Shortest wavelength means $n_{2} = \infty$

Lyman series $\overset{v}{ˉ}_{L} = \frac{1}{λ _{L}} = - 1312 \times \frac{1}{1 ^{2}} \times 1^{2}$

Paschen series $\overset{v}{ˉ}_{p} = \frac{1}{λ _{p}} = - 1312 \times \frac{1}{3 ^{2}} \times 1^{2}$

$\frac{v ˉ _{L}}{v ˉ _{p}} = \frac{λ _{p}}{λ _{L}} = 9$
