Solution

For a series LCR circuit, impedance is

$Z = R^{2} + (X_{L} - X_{C})^{2} = 6 0^{2} + (70 - 150)^{2} = 3600 + 6400 = 100 Ω$ .

Power factor:

$cos ϕ = \frac{R}{Z} = \frac{60}{100} = \frac{6}{10}$ .

$∴ α = 6$ .
