Solution

The wavelength inside a medium of refractive index $μ$ is $λ / μ$ , so the fringe width $β = \frac{λ D}{d}$ becomes $β^{'} = \frac{β}{μ}$ .

$β^{'} = \frac{2.4}{1.2} = 2 μ$ m.
