Solution

Equilibrium: weight = buoyant force.

$ρ_{b} A H g = ρ_{e} A h g \Rightarrow h = \frac{ρ _{b}}{ρ _{e}} H = \frac{600}{900} \times 8 = \frac{16}{3} \approx 5.3 cm$ .
