When the position vector $r = x \hat{i} + y \hat{j} + z \hat{k}$ changes sign as $- r$ , which one of the following vector will not flip under sign change ?

Solution

Under $r \to - r$ (parity inversion), polar vectors flip: $v = \frac{d r}{d t}$ flips, $p = m v$ flips, $a$ flips.

Angular momentum $L = m (r \times v)$ involves a cross product of two flipping vectors, so the two sign changes cancel: $L$ is unchanged (it is an axial / pseudo-vector).
