Solution

Using $ω = ω_{0} + α t$ , the angular acceleration is $α = \frac{ω - ω _{0}}{t}$ .

Change in speed: $3120 - 1200 = 1920$ rpm $= \frac{1920 \times 2 π}{60}$ rad/s $= 64 π$ rad/s.

$α = \frac{64 π}{16} = 4 π$ rad/s $^{2}$ .
