Solution

Each piece has resistance $R /8$ .

Four such pieces in parallel: $\frac{1}{4} \cdot \frac{R}{8} = \frac{R}{32}$ . This forms one set.

Two such identical sets in series: $\frac{R}{32} + \frac{R}{32} = \frac{R}{16}$ .
