Which of the following reactions will NOT give primary amine as the product?

(i) Nitriles ( $R-C \equiv N$ ) reduce to $R-CH_{2} - NH_{2}$ — primary amine.

(ii) Isocyanides ( $R-N \equiv C$ ) reduce to $R-NH-CH_{3}$ — secondary amine. This is the exception.

(iii) Amides reduce to primary amines: $CH_{3} CONH_{2} \to CH_{3} CH_{2} NH_{2}$ .

(iv) Hofmann bromamide reaction gives $CH_{3} NH_{2}$ (one carbon shorter, still a 1° amine).
